Governor Malloy’s address to the Legislature was vague at best, stirring up extreme left proposals. While he claims to be “fair”, in reality, his plan is very “unfair” to our businesses. Connecticut needs a pro-growth, pro-business environment. Businesses must have the confidence that there will be no new taxes, mandates, or regulations, resulting in a predictable environment in which to thrive. Governor Malloy’s plan of paid sick leave, increasing minimum wage, and increasing the per employee assessment will drive more nails into the coffin. This is unacceptable. His speech did not address the big elephant in the room as to how we will achieve a balanced budget as required by our Constitution.
Connecticut can do better, Connecticut should do better. As your next Governor, I will ensure that Connecticut will do better.
